Photos Phase One....

For some reason, the blog is taking forever in loading pictures, so I'll just do it in phases. Just double click on the photos to enlarge them. Oh, and if there are any in particular that you would like a copy of, just let me know. You can email me at leahk2121@yahoo.com or leave a note in the comments section.
Also, I'm still working on the family tree. I'm missing some details, but slowly gathering info.

ENCORE!

It was GREAT seeing everyone this weekend, so glad those of you that were there could make it! We got some great pictures, had some great food, and made some great memories. Since there was so much going on, there were some pictures you may have missed but SOMEONE probably got them! Here is a list of email addresses so we all can do a "Photo Swap". I personally do a lot with Shutterfly (www.shutterfly.com), you can create your own account and then make photo albums that can be emailed to people. You can also order right off this website, making things very easy!

I'm hoping I was able to read everyone hand writing and didn't misspell any of these! Let me know if there is any that need to be corrected or any that may need to be added, as I didn't get a chance to catch everyone.

Checklist....

Tara had a great idea of throwing out a checklist for the big day:

* BYOE - Bring Your Own Entree; Jon will grill it if you'd like, feel free to bring whatever floats your boat (sandwiches, brats, veggie burgers...to each their own)

* Beverages

* Designated food item (see your flier to see if you are bringing dessert, sides or snacks)

* Plates, Plastic ware, Napkins

* Swimsuits

* Sunscreen

* Camera

* Any games you want to play

* Lawn Chairs - there are picnic tables there too

* Bikes

Check Your Mail....

I sent out some fliers on Saturday, so be sure to check your mail this week. If you didn't get one, I apologize...there are a couple of addresses that I don't have. Call me if you don't get yours by Thursday - I'd be happy to email you or send out a new one. Just leave a message - 763.497.0097.

Food.....

As you know, it's not really a family reunion without good picnic food! We have a few options, so I'm asking you to "vote" for what you think would be best on the poll on the right hand side of the blog.
We could do a potluck - everybody brings something, but we may have to do some assigning so that not everybody brings dessert! ;)
We could do B.Y.O.F. - bring your own food. Everybody bring whatever they want for his/her family.
Other suggestions? If so, leave a message in the comment section so I can add it to the poll.

Looking forward to seeing all of you!!!

Destination Decided

We've finalized a location. The big event will take place at ELM CREEK PARK RESERVE in Maple Grove. I've attached a couple of links for you, but this place is great!
We have rented a sheltered picnic area with electricity and a grill (on the map it's the Deer Area). They have:
  • Man-made swimming area that is amazing for kids ($2/person/day)
  • The largest of Three Rivers Park District's play areas, there are two acres of wood and rope mazes leading to spiral slides, suspension bridges, underground tunnels and two cable rides
  • Hiking Trails: Creek Trail (2.1 miles), Monarch Trail (.75 miles) -Wood-chip and turf trails through woodlots and fields, Eastman Nature Center Trails (3.5 miles total) - Four loop trails, turf or wood-chip surface.
  • Biking Trails: - Mountain Biking - 5 mile turf trail w/rolling terrain. "Regular" Biking - 20 miles of trail - hilly terrain. Trail connects with North Hennepin Trail Corridor. Rest stops at Visitor Center, picnic areas, Nature Center and group camp. Access from Visitor Center, Nature Center or picnic area.
  • Archery: a 30-acre archery facility, featuring both a stationary range and a walk-through course. A daily pass is $5. Archery permits required for ages 16 and older. Archers age 15 and younger do not need a permit, but must be accompanied by an adult permit-holder.

The website has directions and much more information. Go check it out!
